About Tallyroom

What is Tallyroom?

An independent UK review desk. We assess online casinos licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and publish what we found: verification speed, game quality, bonus fairness, withdrawal times, support and safer gambling tools.

Can I play casino games on this website?

No. We are an information resource only. We take no deposits, hold no customer funds and offer no games. Any play happens with the licensed casino, under its own terms.

Who is this website for?

Adults aged 18 or over in Great Britain. It is a criminal offence for anyone under 18 to gamble in Great Britain. If you are under 18, please leave this website.

Reviews and scoring

How is the score worked out?

Six weighted categories: licensing and transparency (15%), withdrawals and payouts (25%), games and software (20%), bonus fairness (10%), customer support (15%) and safer gambling tools (15%). The overall score is the weighted average, and the ranking always follows the overall score.

Can a casino pay for a better score or position?

No. Some links are affiliate links and we disclose that openly, but commercial arrangements never change a score, the order of the list or the wording of a review.

How often are reviews updated?

Every review is re-checked each quarter, and sooner if we learn of a material change such as a licence condition, a change of owner or a shift in payout behaviour. Each review shows when it was last checked and what changed.

Why do you review so few casinos?

Each review takes weeks of real account work. We would rather publish a few properly evidenced reviews than a long list of rewritten marketing copy. The list grows as our capacity does.

UK rules and licensing

How do I check a casino’s UK licence?

Every review lists the operator’s Gambling Commission account number with a link to the public register. Open it and confirm that the company, the website domain and an active licence status are all listed. The register is the authoritative source, not a badge in a footer.

Is there a limit on how much I can stake on online slots?

Yes. Since 2025, online slot stakes in Great Britain are capped at £5 per spin for adults aged 25 and over, and £2 per spin for adults aged 18 to 24.

Are casino bonus wagering requirements capped?

Yes. Since 19 January 2026, UK-licensed operators cannot set wagering requirements above 10 times, and can no longer bundle different products (for example casino and betting) into one promotion. Our bonus calculator shows what a requirement means in real stakes.

Can I deposit with a credit card?

No. Gambling with a credit card has been banned in Great Britain since April 2020. Debit cards, bank transfer and most e-wallets are accepted.

Why was I asked for documents?

UK casinos must verify your age and identity before you can deposit or play, and carry out anti-money-laundering checks. It means the operator is following the rules. Completing verification at sign-up avoids delays later.

Do I pay tax on casino winnings?

Gambling winnings are not subject to income tax or capital gains tax for players in the UK. Operators pay gambling duties instead. If gambling is your main source of income, get professional advice.

What is GAMSTOP?

A free national self-exclusion scheme. One registration blocks you from every online gambling operator licensed in Great Britain for six months, one year or five years, and it cannot be cancelled early.

Money, cookies and data

How is this website funded?

Through affiliate arrangements. If you register with a casino after following one of our outbound links, the operator may pay us a fee. You never pay more, and it has no effect on what we publish.

What cookies do you use?

One strictly necessary cookie that remembers your cookie choice. We do not set advertising or profiling cookies. Rejecting optional cookies changes nothing about what you can read here.

Cookie policy →

What do you do with my data?

If you contact us we keep your name, email and message only to reply, and delete them after 24 months. We never sell data or pass enquiries to casinos. You can ask for access, correction or erasure at any time.

Staying in control

Can I win consistently at an online casino?

No. Every casino game has a built-in house edge, so over time the operator is expected to keep a percentage of everything staked. No bonus, strategy or system changes that. Treat any money you stake as the cost of entertainment.

How do I set a deposit limit?

Every UK-licensed casino must offer deposit limits in the account area, usually under “safer gambling”. Set one before your first deposit. Lowering a limit applies immediately; raising one is subject to a cooling-off period.
